The trade values listed are partially based on player feedback. Consisting of supply/demand, playability
and usefulness of Sanctum cards. However, in order to constantly maintain these trade values I need feedback from the Sanctum players on a regular basis. If you see a card listed at a certain value and you feel it should be
valued lower or higher, let me know what you feel is appropriate, along with an explanation as to why you feel this
way.
Q: What's going on with Phantom/Renegades/Spirit Binding/Day of the Dead/etc?
As a combination of my first wave of surveys, test trades, and
observations of the Sanctum trading page, it became clear that several of the higher value cards on other trade value pages
were inaccurate, to the point where it was hurting the market for the cards.
Q: Why did the values of so many Revolutions rares drop?
Most rares in Revolutions are not the most powerful cards
in the expansion, but instead, cards that are less likely to be used by most players. Unfortunately, the relative rarity of
the Revolutions expansion has artificially inflated the values of those cards, and the effect has never been corrected. I
felt that the increased numbers of Revolutions packs brought into circulation, combined with the relative quality of Revolutions
cards should lower their values. Obviously, a few exceptions have been noted, including Biting Wind.
Q: Why is Sword of Zana worth roughly the same as Sword of Zana II?
Sword of Zana and Sword of Zana II have the same effect and casting
cost, so that the only difference in their value comes from rarity. Sword of Zana is out of print, unfortunately, because
Sword of Zana was originally released as a Classic uncommon, it is relatively easy to find compared with the other out of
print cards. Since Sword of Zana II has only ever been available as a Whisper, it remains relatively scarce. I felt that those
two factors taken together balanced the value of the cards.
Q: Why is Bleak Isle's value so much lower than other site's, but Apocalypse hasn't changed?
Even though Bleak Isle is more rare than Apocalypse, a reprint
of Bleak Isle is available for players who are more interested in using it for play than for collecting. Nioga has not
yet released such a reprint for Apocalypse, requiring both collectors and players to seek the original.
